The FAO Meat Price Index of the month of April 2009 reached the 77.9 points, which meant a increase of 3.32% in relation to previous mensual index of March, that was 75.4 points (+2.5 pts), and was placed a -4.07% under the annual average of 81.21 points recorded (-3.31 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 85.3 points was 9.5% higgher than the selected month (+7.4 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 75, that is 3.87% lower than the 77.9 points of April 2009 (-2.9 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in April 2009 there was a year-on-year decline of -9.63%, 8.3 points under the 86.2 pts reached in the same month of 2008.
