The FAO Food Price Index of the month of August 2014 reached the 113 points, which meant a decline of -2.92% in relation to previous mensual index of July, that was 116.4 points (-3.4 pts), and was placed a -1.76% under the annual average of 115.03 points recorded (-2.03 pts).
The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 122.1 points was 8.05% higgher than the selected month (+9.1 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 105.1, that is 7.52% lower than the 113 points of August 2014 (-7.9 pts).
In relation to the values of the previous year, in August 2014 there was a year-on-year decline of -2.75%, 3.2 points under the 116.2 pts reached in the same month of 2013.
