The FAO Food Price Index of the month of June 1998 reached the 64.2 points, which meant a decline of -3.31% in relation to previous mensual index of May, that was 66.4 points (-2.2 pts), and was placed a -0.7% under the annual average of 64.65 points recorded (-0.45 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 67.6 points was 5.3% higgher than the selected month (+3.4 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 61.9, that is 3.72% lower than the 64.2 points of June 1998 (-2.3 pts).
