The FAO Food Price Index of the month of February 2014 reached the 118.5 points, which meant an increase of 1.98% in relation to previous mensual index of January, that was 116.2 points (+2.3 pts), and was placed a 3.02% above the annual average of 115.03 points recorded (+3.47 pts).
The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 122.1 points was 3.04% higgher than the selected month (+3.6 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 105.1, that is 12.75% lower than the 118.5 points of February 2014 (-13.4 pts).
In relation to the values of the previous year, in February 2014 there was a year-on-year decline of -3.89%, 4.8 points under the 123.3 pts reached in the same month of 2013.
