The FAO Food Price Index of the month of February 2008 reached the 128 points, which meant an increase of 6.67% in relation to previous mensual index of January, that was 120 points (+8 pts), and was placed a 8.93% above the annual average of 117.51 points recorded (+10.49 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 132.5 points was 3.52% higgher than the selected month (+4.5 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 86, that is 48.84% lower than the 128 points of February 2008 (-42 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in February 2008 there was a year-on-year increase of 60.8%, 48.4 points above the 79.6 pts reached in the same month of 2007.
