The FAO Food Price Index of the month of December 2019 reached the 101 points, which meant an increase of 2.43% in relation to previous mensual index of November, that was 98.6 points (+2.4 pts), and was placed a 6.2% above the annual average of 95.1 points recorded (+5.9 pts).
The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 8.37% above the lowest monthly value , that was 93.2 points (-7.8 pts).
In relation to the values of the previous year, in December 2019 there was a year-on-year increase of 9.54%, 8.8 points above the 92.2 pts reached in the same month of 2018.
