The FAO Food Price Index of the month of July 2006 reached the 72.9 points, which meant an increase of 2.53% in relation to previous mensual index of June, that was 71.1 points (+1.8 pts), and was placed a 0.46% above the annual average of 72.57 points recorded (+0.33 pts).
The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 78.6 points was 7.82% higgher than the selected month (+5.7 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 69.4, that is 5.04% lower than the 72.9 points of July 2006 (-3.5 pts).
In relation to the values of the previous year, in July 2006 there was a year-on-year increase of 8.16%, 5.5 points above the 67.4 pts reached in the same month of 2005.
