The FAO Food Price Index of the month of April 2014 reached the 121.5 points, which meant an decline of -0.49% in relation to previous mensual index of March, that was 122.1 points (-0.6 pts), and was placed a 5.63% above the annual average of 115.03 points recorded (+6.47 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 122.1 points was 0.49% higgher than the selected month (+0.6 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 105.1, that is 15.6% lower than the 121.5 points of April 2014 (-16.4 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in April 2014 there was a year-on-year decline of -1.14%, 1.4 points under the 122.9 pts reached in the same month of 2013.
