The FAO Food Price Index of the month of March 2010 reached the 96.3 points, which meant a decline of -2.73% in relation to previous mensual index of February, that was 99 points (-2.7 pts), and was placed a -9.79% under the annual average of 106.75 points recorded (-10.45 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 129.3 points was 34.27% higgher than the selected month (+33 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 95.8, that is 0.52% lower than the 96.3 points of March 2010 (-0.5 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in March 2010 there was a year-on-year increase of 14.64%, 12.3 points above the 84 pts reached in the same month of 2009.
