The FAO Food Price Index of the month of December 2017 reached the 96.4 points, which meant a decline of -2.53% in relation to previous mensual index of November, that was 98.9 points (-2.5 pts), and was placed a -1.64% under the annual average of 98.01 points recorded (-1.61 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 100.2 points was 3.94% higgher than the selected month (+3.8 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 95.1, that is 1.37% lower than the 96.4 points of December 2017 (-1.3 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in December 2017 there was a year-on-year increase of 1.37%, 1.3 points above the 95.1 pts reached in the same month of 2016.
