The FAO Food Price Index of the month of November 2002 reached the 56.3 points, which meant an increase of 1.99% in relation to previous mensual index of October, that was 55.2 points (+1.1 pts), and was placed a 5.99% above the annual average of 53.12 points recorded (+3.18 pts).

The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 11.49% above the lowest monthly value , that was 50.5 points (-5.8 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in November 2002 there was a year-on-year increase of 2.93%, 1.6 points above the 54.7 pts reached in the same month of 2001.
