The FAO Food Price Index of the month of October 2011 reached the 125.7 points, which meant a decline of -3.6% in relation to previous mensual index of September, that was 130.4 points (-4.7 pts), and was placed a -4.69% under the annual average of 131.89 points recorded (-6.19 pts).
The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 137.6 points was 9.47% higgher than the selected month (+11.9 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 122.1, that is 2.95% lower than the 125.7 points of October 2011 (-3.6 pts).
In relation to the values of the previous year, in October 2011 there was a year-on-year increase of 4.66%, 5.6 points above the 120.1 pts reached in the same month of 2010.
