The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of September 2016 reached the 132.9 points, which meant an increase of 6.66% in relation to previous mensual index of August, that was 124.6 points (+8.3 pts), and was placed a 19.07% above the annual average of 111.62 points recorded (+21.28 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 137.5 points was 3.46% higgher than the selected month (+4.6 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 81.6, that is 62.87% lower than the 132.9 points of September 2016 (-51.3 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in September 2016 there was a year-on-year increase of 81.06%, 59.5 points above the 73.4 pts reached in the same month of 2015.
