The FAO Sugar Price Index of the month of May 1992 reached the 59.3 points, which meant an increase of 1.37% in relation to previous mensual index of April, that was 58.5 points (+0.8 pts), and was placed a 5.85% above the annual average of 56.03 points recorded (+3.27 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 64.1 points was 8.09% higgher than the selected month (+4.8 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 48.5, that is 22.27% lower than the 59.3 points of May 1992 (-10.8 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in May 1992 there was a year-on-year increase of 26.44%, 12.4 points above the 46.9 pts reached in the same month of 1991.
