The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of May 2023 reached the 129.3 points, which meant a decline of -5% in relation to previous mensual index of April, that was 136.1 points (-6.8 pts), and was placed a -1.76% under the annual average of 131.62 points recorded (-2.32 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 147.5 points was 14.08% higgher than the selected month (+18.2 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 121, that is 6.86% lower than the 129.3 points of May 2023 (-8.3 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in May 2023 there was a year-on-year decline of -25.48%, 44.2 points under the 173.5 pts reached in the same month of 2022.
