The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of December 2010 reached the 139.7 points, which meant an increase of 5.51% in relation to previous mensual index of November, that was 132.4 points (+7.3 pts), and was placed a 29.94% above the annual average of 107.51 points recorded (+32.19 pts).

The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 59.11% above the lowest monthly value , that was 87.8 points (-51.9 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in December 2010 there was a year-on-year increase of 41.11%, 40.7 points above the 99 pts reached in the same month of 2009.
