The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of January 2010 reached the 98.4 points, which meant a decline of -0.61% in relation to previous mensual index of December UNDEF(of) 2009, that was 99 points (-0.6 pts), and was placed a -8.47% under the annual average of 107.51 points recorded (-9.11 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 139.7 points was 41.97% higgher than the selected month (+41.3 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 87.8, that is 12.07% lower than the 98.4 points of January 2010 (-10.6 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in January 2010 there was a year-on-year decline of -1.99%, 2 points under the 100.4 pts reached in the same month of 2009.
