The FAO Cereal Price Index of the month of October 2010 reached the 130.6 points, which meant an increase of 3.73% in relation to previous mensual index of September, that was 125.9 points (+4.7 pts), and was placed a 21.48% above the annual average of 107.51 points recorded (+23.09 pts).

The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year of 139.7 points was 6.97% higgher than the selected month (+9.1 pts), while the lowest value during the period was 87.8, that is 48.75% lower than the 130.6 points of October 2010 (-42.8 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in October 2010 there was a year-on-year increase of 39.23%, 36.8 points above the 93.8 pts reached in the same month of 2009.
