The FAO Food Price Index of year 2022 reached the 143.65 points. The highest monthly value achieved throughout the year was 159.7 points, while the lowest descended to the 131.8 points.
The average of 2022 was 17.92 pts above the previous year, which represents an interannual difference of 14.25% with respect the 125.73 points reached in 2021.
The selected year value is the highest average reached along the entire period 1990/2023, with a difference of 56.76 points above the interannual average of 86.89 points, that means an increase of 65.32% with respect the arithmetic mean of the last 34 years.
