The FAO Food Price Index of the month of January 2015 reached the 100.7 points, which meant an decline of -4.19% in relation to previous mensual index of December UNDEF(of) 2014, that was 105.1 points (-4.4 pts), and was placed a 8.22% above the annual average of 93.05 points recorded (+7.65 pts).

The record of this month was the highest value achieved throughout the year, with a difference of 15.61% above the lowest monthly value , that was 87.1 points (-13.6 pts).

In relation to the values of the previous year, in January 2015 there was a year-on-year decline of -13.34%, 15.5 points under the 116.2 pts reached in the same month of 2014.
